Twenty-six-minute tv programme for the Bike Channel about Velusso luxury cycling holidays in Mallorca.
I went to Pollença, Mallorca for a weekend to shoot a presenter-led 26-minute TV show for the Bike Channel that showcased the five-star service cyclists can expect on a Velusso luxury cycling holiday.
The film follows presenter Anna Glowinski experiencing a ‘day in the life’ of a guest. The film was produced by Domenico Lucarelli, had Adam Opi as camera operator and myself as Director/ DOP.
We were up at sunrise to get the spectacular Mallorcan view, first impressions of the villa and the surroundings. We filmed presenter Anna waking up in one of the beautiful bedrooms and showcased details of the facilities before she headed down to breakfast. Anna talked about how she’s used the company’s app to prepare for the holiday and monitor her training data.
After breakfast, we were outside with pro-rider Dan Patten from Team Wiggins, who lives on site ready to answer any questions the guests have and provide encouragement and advice. Guests were guided through the ride itinerary and set-up and fitted with top quality equipment. Then it was off to the road and an amazing, challenging, hilly ride through the Mallorcan landscape.
After, guests headed back to the villa for shakes, showers, a sports massage and some delicious, nutritious food cooked by a chef of a Michelin star awarded restaurant, followed by drinks in the old town of Pollença. It’s hard not to fall in love with this setting and as part of making the film, we were lucky to get a taste of the Velusso holiday experience, which was a real treat.
The show aired on Bike Channel on 27 December 2016 and is on repeats throughout the first part of 2017. The Bike Channel UK is available on Sky channel 464, Virgin Media channel 552 and Freesat channel 251.
The Bike Channel is a Cycling Media Awards Winner 2016 - Best Broadcast Coverage.
