Turin
Turin in July. Sweltering, properly sweltering, the kind of heat that makes you duck into any bit of shade the arcades offer.
None of that took anything away from how beautiful the city is.
The food did what Italian food always does to me, made me forget any plans I had for moderation. And the coffee… We tried a bicerin, a small glass of espresso, chocolate ganache and frothed milk, it’s one of those things that sounds like it shouldn’t work and then completely does. Gelato most days too, no real excuse needed.
We went up into the Mole Antonelliana for the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, that strange soaring building doing double duty as a monument and a museum, all screens and film history stacked up under one impossible roof.
