Small Crews, Big Impact
Not every production needs a forty-person set. Some of the most powerful work happens with just a few people.
A smaller crew changes the energy. There’s less distance between camera and subject, which makes everything more personal. As director I can also operate the camera, which often leads to more natural and organic shots.
It’s also good for budgets, without losing quality. And with fewer moving parts, a small team can adapt faster, respond to what’s unfolding, and often find creative solutions that wouldn’t surface on a bigger set.
This isn’t about cutting corners. It’s about being clear on the story, planning well, and working with the right people. With that in place, even a handful of collaborators can create work that feels authentic, intimate, and cinematic.
Sometimes, less really does deliver more.
