Osi Samuel

Last Monday night we shot a scene in a park for my new short, To Live Even One Day. It's a story about a bike messenger who spends his days connecting other people while staying completely disconnected himself, until a chance encounter cracks something open.

For this scene I needed a featured extra who could bring real presence with no dialogue at all. Osi Samuel showed up and did exactly that. Osi played Othello at the Bristol Old Vic, so having him there for even a small role was a genuine gift, and he gave an evening to a project that isn't even his.

In exchange I shot some new portraits for him. Fair swap, and one I was happy to make. Osi is also the lead in another short I'm currently prepping, and after Monday I'm even more glad he's attached to it.

Grateful for collaborators who show up like that.
