WE SHOOK THE SUN
After a quiet day at the beach, a couple is forced to acknowledge an ending neither of them is ready for. As the light fades and the tide turns, small gestures and unspoken looks carry the weight of what cannot be said. Guided by a poem from Anna Hoghton, the film is a meditation on love, longing, and the ache of saying goodbye.
I first heard this poem from Anna Hoghton, a friend and published author, several years ago. Its emotional clarity stayed with me, and I knew I wanted to create a film that could hold the same sense of tenderness and restraint. Rather than illustrating the words, the film responds to them, allowing space for gesture, silence, and the small moments that often carry the most meaning. This is a quiet reflection on love, memory, and the difficulty of saying goodbye.
